Tarheel Junior Golf Tour
The Tarheel Jr Golf Tour provides competitive tournament opportunities that prepare high school boys and girls for collegiate golf and middle school players for high school golf careers. All 36-hole events are nationally ranked by Junior Golf Scoreboard. Tournaments are held on weekends over some of North Carolina’s finest golf courses. The Tarheel Junior Tour may be the most competitive junior golf tour in North Carolina. Tarheel Junior Tour members include North Carolina’s top ranked boys and girls. Players compete for individual tournament championships as well as for the season long Money and Scoring Leader competitions. The Money Leader competition is modeled after the PGA Tour Money List, all tournaments are assigned a purse ranging from $2-$12 million in value, players earn “dollars” based on PGA Tour purse distribution formulas and the leading “money winner” receives a special award at the end of the season. The Scoring Leader is modeled after the PGA Tour’s Vardon Trophy, which recognizes the player with the lowest scoring average in tournament competition.
Future Stars
The Tarheel Future Stars events are a North Carolina Junior Golf Tour for elementary and middle school boys and girls ages 14 and under. These are one-day golf tournaments where parents are allowed to caddy for their children. Children 8 years old and younger are required to have an adult or sibling over the age of 13 as a caddy. These events provide opportunities for parents and children to spend an afternoon together on the golf course. Future Stars events are great opportunities for young players to experience tournament golf, meet new friends and become comfortable in a competitive environment. These events provide tournament experience to young golfers and help prepare them for their next level of competition.
